After a week-long judging session by a panel of wine industry experts from New South Wales, Perth, across South Australia and the Clare Valley, the Penna Lane 2024 Watervale Riesling received the highest honour at the show, accepting the Jim Barry Trophy for Best Wine of Show.

That's not the best Riesling, that's the BEST WINE OF THE SHOW!!

In fact Penna Lane Watervale Riesling won Best Single Vineyard Wine, Best Riesling, Best Current Vintage and the Jim Barry Best Wine of the Show.

“The judges of the 2024 Clare Wine Show found wines of compelling style and quality across the board in terms of style and flavour,” Nick Stock, chair of the judging panel said, “Specifically, the Rieslings stole the show, with the top Reisling showing elite level quality and site-driven distinctiveness in a classic style – it’s an exemplarity wine.”

And don't just take the judges word for it. On Saturday Ben and I (and a few others) sat down to taste the 2024s and put our next shipment order in, and guess what we ended up drinking.... the 2024 Penna Lane too.
