Time to celebrate.... Riesling

Today, March 13th, is International Riesling Day.

It's a great opportunity to celebrate one of the world's most versatile grapes. When we set up the business, one of the wines we got most excited about was Riesling, and Australia makes some of the best in the world. If you're tired of over oaked Chardonnay, or floral Sauvignon Blanc, then Riesling provides a beautiful, refreshing alternative.

The critics always mention Riesling being a wine enthusiasts wine. The white that sommeliers and masters of wine would choose if given the option. We agree, because Riesling is a wine that goes equally well as an aperitif before your evening meal, or pairs well with Asian food, cutting through the spice and providing a welcome respite for your taste buds.

We are fortunate at Aussie Vintners to stock two incredible Rieslings, from two award winning producers.

Our 2023 Penna Lane, Watervale Riesling isn't just the best Riesling in Clare Valley... it was the best WINE and won the entire Clare Valley show. It's wonderfully dry with delicate lime and passion fruit, that makes it so great. (£18.50 a bottle, £108 a case of 6)

The AFW 2021 Riesling (£17.50 a bottle, £102 a case of 6) is simply a wonderful combination of acidity and with four years in bottle now, those flavours have intensified to leave you with a great floral note on the finish, that can marry well with fish or a Thai Green curry.
