We're all going on a [pinot] Summer Holiday

Even on holiday I can't get away from Ben.

"I've got a great idea," he said a week before he was due to fly. "I have some extra space in the checked luggage, I'll bring those Pinot's we've been meaning to try."

"But Ben," I said "We're going to be in Spain. They have all those lovely Rioja's to drink."

"PJ, we're called Australian Vintners. I'm bringing them."

And so, one late Saturday afternoon we opened the three bottles of Pinot Noir we'd had shipped over from Australia, then re-shipped to Spain, and tried each of them for you. They were light. They were young. They were fruity, and they were pretty good.

"But they just aren't quite good enough," I said.

You see, when we set up this company, we made a promise that we would only stock wines that we truly thought were outstanding and weren't just 'good for Australia' but could compete on a world stage.

And these were not good enough. They certainly weren't a patch on the amazing Pinot Noirs from Mosquito Hill, our 2010 Single Vineyard, (£37.50 a bottle, £222 a case of 6) or the 2012 7 Barrels. (£36.00 a bottle, £210 a case of 6) As the title says, our Pinot Noir's better by far.
