Domaine A Pinot Noir 2018

Already renowned as a wine of incredible concentration, and drawn from a vintage where high temperatures gave particularly intense fruit and acid profiles, this is a showcase of texture, tannin and tart fruit characters: redcurrant, capsicum and medium-plus plum-skin acidity show well against fine chalky tannin, hints of eucalypt and a slight smokiness. Still youthful, it’ll stand up to any food you care to pair it with or reward a longer stint in the cellar. The last wine made by Peter Althaus, the original owner of Domaine A, this is wine of excellent skill and refinement. Known for his big flavours, the passing of the baton to Conor, the current wine maker is in evidence with the lighter approach to the fruit than in previous vintages. ABV 14.1%
